Mario Bar has two equally good locations, near to each other, that quickly send out fresh and hot montaditos (baguettes) and tostas (toasts). In summer both locations have plenty of outdoor seating which are very popular. So, if you see a table pounce on it quickly!
Ordering is made easy with a fill-in paper menu. The montaditos work out better value for money than the slightly small tostas. We love the blood sausage omelette with cheese baguette (revuelto de morcilla de Zamora, queso fundido) and back bacon, egg, cheese and mayonnaise (lomo, huevo, queso y mahonesa), although we were slightly jealous of the juicy looking prawns on our friend’s prawn/alioli toast.
As always have a portion of chips (racion de patatas 2 salsas) to share and enjoy a drink.
Bar Mario Salamanca’s Menu
Everything to eat is only 1.80€, at the top are the montaditos and at the bottom a few tostas to choose from.
An ample drink menu and of a similar prices to other places.
Where is Bar Mario? – Map
With two locations, walk past the one closest to you first and if it is too busy try the other. Both have ample outdoor seating but on summer evenings it can still be difficult to get a table.
If this Mario Bar 1 is full you can try any of the other popular bar/restaurants next door.
