Not far from Plaza Mayor, La Surena is part of the same company as 100 Montaditos but of a much higher quality.
Come and enjoy a bucket of five beers from only 4 euros. Snack on a calamari sandwich in a beautifully toasted crunchy roll.
Enjoy with a portion of potato wedges. The advertised cherry tomato and mozzarella flatbread disappointingly came with chopped tomatoes instead. However, for a few euros it’s a perfectly good beer snack.
What looked like some type of vegetable fritters in the menu’s photo turned out to be fried fish skins (top right photo). Whilst not unpleasant we were jealous of the table next to ours order of fried white bait. Something we’ll try next time we come here.
This place has popular outdoor seating in summer and plenty of space inside. Order at the bar and the waiters will (usually) bring your food to the table.
